The customer had just bought their first electric car and was charging it from a three-pin socket through the kitchen window. We checked the main fuse and the existing board had plenty of spare capacity, then ran a dedicated circuit to the front wall.
Set up for cheap charging
We connected the charger to the home Wi-Fi and scheduled charging for the off-peak hours on their tariff, so the car is full every morning for a few pounds. We also let the electricity network operator know about the charger, as required.
